The course where the 2010 Tour was settled was Clevedon which bills itself as "one of the most picturesque courses in the South West". Who am I to argue?
It's a par 72 and 6,348 yards of the yellow tees. That's the basics out of the way, I think this course is among the best we've played and the 16th, with it's 200 foot drop from tee to fairway and a 160 yard carry over bushes, would be one of the first on a 'Fantasy Round' from the places we've played.
The course map gets the memories flooding back. It's starts off conventionally enough but out of the blue you have the par three fourth with it's elevated tee. There's a big pond in front of the sixth which had a fountain running when we played. Another moment from this course that will stick with me was Brian's motorised trolley disappearing into a bunker under its own stream on one of the back nine holes.
This is a tough course but worth it.
Best scores:
35 points - Ben W (off 11)
33 points - Ben F (off 18)
33 points - Kevin (off 10)
32 points - Brian (off 18)
Did you think this course was a belter as well or do you have different opinions? Let me know.
