Dainton Park – “One of Devon's Finest Golf Courses”

Wow! This one ‘bigs itself up’ as the kids might say. Dainton Park was our 2006 Saturday course but as I can’t remember any of this one either I might as well quote the website.

“An outstanding test of golf”, “Elevated tees offer stunning views over the surrounding countryside, and wide, inviting fairways follow the natural contours of the landscape. Numerous bunkers and water features pepper the fairways and several patches of unkempt rough will to trap the wayward, whilst well protected greens require a thoughtful approach and an accurate short game.”

Flicking through the course guide - the second is “One of the most picturesque and toughest opening holes in Devon”, the signature hole is the par 3 eighth “A fantastic hole, with more stunning views of the surrounding countryside”, and I remember the 10th because of the protective netting (Which I probably ended up in, or under).

Anybody have anything to add? Can you confirm the course’s claims?
